Background

As an English Language Arts teacher, I implemented researched-based instructional strategies to develop short and long-term lesson plans in accordance with both the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS), as well as Common Core State Standards (CCSS). While serving as a classroom teacher, I utilized both formative and summative assessments to collect student performance data, and maintained various data tracking notebooks to gauge student achievement.

Throughout my teaching career, I have written multiple School Improvement Plans, served as the School Advisory Council chair, participated in the Peer Mentoring program for new teachers, as well as sponsored the school's National Honor Society. While maintaining my academic responsibilities, I also served as the Defensive Coordinator for the football team, as well as the Head Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Teams.

Throughout my educational journey, I have been fortunate to serve as an Advanced Placement coordinator, as well as a Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) administrator.

As an educator, my core belief is that all students can, and will learn. It is up to us, as educators, to provide all students with researched-based, best educational practices to help guide their learning.
